Ever wanted to find a book that was just like... ?

I want a book that's similar to...

"That" best seller!

It's a common scenario ... readers want books that are similar to something they've read and loved.

A great bunch of authors have joined together over on the John 3:16 site and posted comparisons to help readers find books by new and up coming authors, or not yet famous authors so you can find the perfect gift for someone (or yourself) or simply load your eReader so it's ready to go for the holidays,

NaNoWriMo round six with a few insecurities!

For more information about #IWSG please visit Alex J. Cavanaugh

As I sat down to begin this year’s NaNoWriMo (where a bunch of writers around the world write 50000 words in 30 days) the usual excitement hit me along with several insecurities.
What if this one doesn’t actually have a compelling story?
What if I don't have time to get the 50000 words written this time (life has been hectic)?

What if no one wants to read more of my style of writing?
What if... what if ... what if ... what if ...
I don't even know the plot yet - just a simple idea and a character. By the first day of November, I usually have an outline of sorts (a pantser’s outline I call it)
But I began anyway. And here we are on day five and I’m on target.
I don't know if this story will be worthwhile revising and editing. I don't know if it will be worth anything. But I guess I will just have to keep writing about the girl named Kaitlyn who has been known as Lynnie all her life and now wants everyone to all her Kate because she's hoping to win a competition that will make her the face of the 2018 Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast.
I really wanted to write this one in verse. But I find writing fast too hard to do in verse so it's back in normal prose. Perhaps when I revise it I might have a go at working it into verse.
What I do know is that I have done this crazy thing of writing 50000 words in 30 days five times so I know I can win. I just hope the full story comes to me soon.
